Parental Advisory Warning

Let me just preface this with an admission.  I am painfully prudish.  I can't help it.  I blush and have a very hard time swearing or even reading swear words on labels.  So purchasing from Parental Advisory Polish was a BIG step for me and one I am so glad to have taken.

I set out to place a preorder for the Spring collection, and when I did there was an issue checking out.  I emailed the owner and she went above and beyond to figure things out for me and soon I was waiting in anticipation for my order to be shipped.  It arrived carefully packaged in a personalized box, colourful and secure.  

Included in the set were:

• Air Tight - A dusty sky blue LOADED with holo sparkle!
• Angry Pirate - The perfect Spring teal. Great holo shimmer and silky formula will make this one of your new favorite polishes!
• Slam Pig - An exact match to a pink Highlighter, you will not be disappointed with this one! Slam Pig dries to a "Latex" looking finish.
• I-69 - A creamy bright purple with all sorts of holo goodness!
• Fluffer - The perfect neon green. Bright, fun and opaque in only 2 coats!
• and a mini cuticle oil

Four of the shades have a hint of holo in them while the pink, Slam Pig, seems to be a straight cream and by straight I mean as straight as a bright neon can get.

The formula was easy to work with and dried matte with a bit of a texture, but it made it really easy to tell if the layers where even.  There is no need for a white base for the polishes to be vibrant, either.

I was tempted to leave it matte but sealed it with a top coat and blinded my camera trying to take pictures, it hates neons.

I feel like this is a great set of 'basics', perfect to use to accent othter polishes but strong enough to stand on their own as well as for bases for glitter bombs or stamping.

Squishy Face Polish: A Review

I've been sitting here the last ten minutes trying to remember where I first saw Squishy Face Polish.  I'm sure it was on Instagram, but for the life of me I can't figure out who's page I saw them on!

I do know that as soon as I clicked over to the shop I ordered two of their three polishes, Where's My Tiara and Princess Polish.  I had to, you see.  I love holos and GITDs and hence, had to.

One of my main complaints with ordering anything from a Big Cartel shop is that you have no idea when things ship.  There is no notice, no transaction history to check.  My order came quickly enough, although without any invoice or anything inside.  The polishes were carefully wrapped and undamaged, so that's really all that counts.

Princess Polish is a glow in the dark pastel pink crelly with gold and lavender shimmer, also packed with micro glitters and iridescent glitters. 

The formula is wonderful.  A lot of times light crellies like this are gloopy and apply very patchy.  Princess Polish is very smooth.  The above swatch is two thin coats and a top coat!  The glow is very lovely and the flecks of iridescent glitters makes it more dimensional.  It would be a great everyday, there but not there, not-so-nude shade.

Where's My Tiara is a bright pink linear holo with lavender shimmer.

I wouldn't say it's the strongest linear holo, but it's such a gorgeous colour!  The formula is also outstanding, it's opaque in two light coats, which I love.  It's also great to stamp with, which I love!

 I used Mo You London Princess plate 11 for the hearts in the mani below.  It's so subtle and so dainty.

Over all I'm very impressed with the two polishes I bought!  I'm really hoping they will release more, I'd love to see what else they come up with!

Wormhole: EXTREME!

• Apply a base coat.
• Apply an even layer of the holo polish you've chosen.  Any will do, I just love the depth of Black Gold, Texas Tea from LLarowe.

• Apply a quick dry base coat and  let dry completely.
• Carefully remove the entire bullseye design from the backing.  These are from Lou-It-Yourself and the moment I saw them I knew that I wanted to try this mani with them!

• Place the entire design over the nail as desired.  I did each nail with a different aspect, it's up to you!

• Carefully remove every other inner ring.  Applying the whole design at once and then removing the extra ensures that the spacing between rings remains exact.

• Apply the solid cream polish you've chosen, this design looks best when the holo and the cream match.  I'm using Camelot from A England.

• Carefully remove the vinyls, piece by piece, pulling up.  Try to move quickly before the vinyls melt.

• Let the solid colour set a bit before applying a fast dry top coat.  Letting it set ensures that it doesn't smear into the holo.
• Tidy up, if required!
