I recently discovered that Mentality Polish offers the same colour polishes in a few different finishes. For example, you can get the same bright pink shade in a sheer, a holo, and an opaque.... if not more options. I had an idea in mind but it wasn't until I had them to experiment I realized the amazing things you can do!
For the following turorial I used Neon Magenta in both a Glaze and an Opaque.
- Apply a base coat.
- Apply a thin even layer of the Glaze. Let it dry.
- Apply a thin even layer of a glitter and when it's dry, top it with the Glaze to create a jelly sandwich. It's important to use a glitter that's iridescent. I used Love Dust from Joha's Love.
- Smooth it over with a good topcoat.
- Once it's all dry and set, using the Opaque, stamp a design with a small bit of openwork over top. This means that the stamp will mostly consist of the Opaque polish. I used this plate from Bunny Nails.
- Apply a top coat and let dry.
- Tidy up if required.
The finished look is soft and subtle and will look as if the design in relief is glowing behind the opaque!
